1.26.2016

Today's morning weather brought us sleet and ice - just what we needed!  Late morning, the temperatures got a little warmer but it was still kind of an on/off damp drizzly day.

Not knowing what we would be able to do at the property, Jim and I made it a divide and conquer day.  I had errand to run and fire school printing to pick up in two different places, so I headed out to get that done.

Jim went to the property and still managed to get quite a bit done!  He worked on cutting the joists for the landing and then was able to get the other track attached.  There are over 50 screws just in this track alone!  From the picture below, you can see that he then got the first joist up - this one can be attached to the steel wall so it will be really strong.

Then he put up the last joist - this is where the staircase will attach.  This is very heavy gauge steel to support all those loads.  He also got 2 other joists up - they aren't fastened yet because Jim wanted to consult his plans at home for a little more accurate placement.  But what a great start to our landing!
