1.19.2016

Today was painting day at the apartment!  Jim had brought home the ledger boards for the stairwell walls because it is too cold to paint them on site.  So we laid out the drop cloth, put some of our handy toe boards underneath, and Jim put a coat of primer on them.

Doing the undersides...

All done!  Sometimes it's nice to have an old apartment where you don't mind painting on the floors!  And maybe, just maybe, it will mask the cigarette smoke drifting upstairs from yet another neighbor the landlord is trying to evict.

After lunch, Jim put on his coveralls and headed out.  He did some organizing in the downstairs shop but spent most of the afternoon in the woodworking shop.  He got some wall pieces ready and then built a window header.  This is hours of work that he is able to do when it's too cold to build but will save us all that time when we're ready to install.
