1.11.2016

After our warm and rainy day yesterday, the temperatures plunged.  When Jim went out to the site this morning, he found some good and bad news.

The good news was that after such a rainy day, the only water in the carriage house was from the side wall opening in the apartment as well as some drips down into the ground floor shop from our tarped stairwell.  That was actually fabulous news!

That bad news was that all the water did a big freeze - so the entire site is now covered in ice.  Jim said it's all like a skating rink - he told me to stay home this afternoon.  He worked for awhile to put some gravel down over the areas in the driveway where we park to offer more traction.

But this afternoon, he worked on the doors and ... ta da!  We now have a locking door on the woodworking shop!  He was able to get all the hinges on, doors aligned and all the hardware on.  I can't wait to see it in person because the picture looks great!  Plus that means that this whole area is secure - at the end of the day, we can put tools inside and lock the door!
