9.9.2019

Jim took down our plywood window opening and was able to put the newly-finished bottom sash back into the window...

Then he attached the inner window frame back in place...

He removed the top sash and remade the plywood board to fit in the top area.  He had to do a little more taping and keep a towel in the opening since the top of the window doesn't have a screen - we want no bugs inside!

Window all prepped...

Starting to stain...

All stained...

Jim also did some bug-proofing on the outside today.  There was a slight space underneath the overhang on the dormer, so Jim made small strips, primed and attached them...

Then painted them gray - all done and looks good!

There's one more area to bug proof - the gap between where the freeze board ends and the copper flashing intersects.  None of these are open to the inside but wasps like to build nests in these type of spaces.  Cutting some wood...

Here's the little primed wedges that Jim will use.  He'll paint them gray and just caulk them in place.

Jim then turned his attention to the garage doors - they came out perfectly!  He installed the metal strip and weatherproofing to the bottom panel and then brought them into the auto bay to complete the drying process.

Time to start sanding the next three panels...

All sanded!

Jim had a little time at the end of the day so he did some weed trimming.  He also did some metal detecting but no great finds, just a couple of maybe older shotgun shells.
High 67/Low 43 - nice and cool!
