9.15.2019 - Vermont road trip!

Jim made a Craigslist sale to a person who lives in Vermont.  Normally, we wouldn't consider delivering an item but the guy lived near the capital of Vermont, Montpelier, which was close to a place that is on our list of "must see's" in this part of our new world.  So we decided to take the Mini on a Vermont road trip!

On our way, we crossed off another thing I wanted to see - this 1000 pound steel sculpture of Big Foot in Whitehall, New York!  Whitehall is infamous for its Bigfoot sightings - we actually were just a couple weeks early for their Sasquatch Calling Festival, which is September 28th if you're interested!  We had to stop and take a couple of pictures with Bigfoot...

Then we continued on our trip.  It was a beautiful ride - the leaves are just barely beginning to turn colors.  The Vermont mountains have more hardwoods than our Adirondack mountains, which gives them their famous beautiful colors.  However, our pine trees keep our mountains looking green all year long!

We did our Craigslist exchange to a nice guy with an adorable little boy before continuing on to East Corinth, Vermont.  This is where the movie Beetlejuice was filmed - a classic we watched as a family every Halloween season.

The main street of the town has familiar buildings to those who watched the movie.  We recognized the church steeple as we drove in...

They are actually redoing what was the hardware store, which you can see next to the church.

The famous bridge (it was made to be a covered bridge for the movie) a still picture poster from the movie is in the foreground.

And Lydia's school is actually the local Mason Hall, again with a poster from the movie.

We had a fun day driving in the Mini and seeing a little more of the beauty of the area.
