9.5.2018

Jim stained one of the front window frames in the wood shop...

And the sash...

Then he did some more steel cutting for Shelf B.

After lunch, it was back to rock duty in the back of the house.  Gravel was the next layer on the top section...

A load of rocks...

Working down the building with the last layer of rocks...

Looks so good!  It's hard to believe that the grade is up this far now.  We keep remembering working on this area the ground was a story lower!

Jim had to make some more dirt with the excavator...

Scooped up with the Bobcat...

Before we do the rocks around the corner and the auto bay, Jim wanted a couple more scoops of dirt while he could squeeze the Bobcat.  Then he had to work it by hand.

Using some of our Zip tape to close up the dimple board around the corner of the auto bay.

Then shoveling it against the house...

Smoothing it out with the rake.  Unfortunately, Jim's new Bobcat is too big to fit on the side of the auto bay so finishing the grade here will have to wait for awhile.  But everything is in good shape now - we just have to finish with rocks on the back of the auto bay.

Final view of the day on this area...

We may get a little rain tomorrow so we thought we'd take some chances and throw some grass seed down on our former topsoil pile...

Jim's raking it in lightly.  Now we'll just see if any of it takes!

We got an alert on our phone saying that a pop up storm was headed to us, so Jim put the window back in the shop.  However, we ended up getting about 10 drops!

Jim took up some more dirt to the pole barn area...

Before picture as Jim is getting ready to grade out the pole barn area...

And after!
