9.13.2018

Jim has all 3 quotes in for our pole barn material and put everything on a spreadsheet to get a better grip on it.  It looks like Curtis Lumber is still the best for most things, but he's going to make some calls and final decisions soon.

It was a nice day today and Jim is anxious to keep pressing on with getting the windows stained and sealed, so today he worked on the kitchen window frames.

Working over the sink made things a bit harder...

The bags of concrete that Jim picked up at Lowe's yesterday.  We'll be putting these to use soon!

This afternoon, we worked on the layout of the pole barn.  We first ran a string from the edge of the auto bay wall - that will line up with the front of the pole barn.

Then we started making all our measurements, running string and pounding in stakes!

Once we got the outside dimensions done, we marked the locations of the posts.  Here Jim is marking the back side line so that we can take the string off.

Marking more post locations...

If you look closely, you can see Jim way in the background of this picture.  Jim wants to have surveyor stakes - once we start digging, all the other stakes get out of place.  With stakes set a little farther out on two sides, he can always find his measuring points.

Everything is marked and ready to go!

Jim made a reservation to pick up the auger attachment for the Bobcat tomorrow afternoon.  That way, we can have it all weekend and return it Monday.

High 77/Low 60 - gorgeous!
