12.20.2017 - Furnace is on the wall!

Jim worked on more insulation this morning, as well as moving some steel that we had behind the flooring.

After lunch, Jim drove over to one of our neighbors to see if he would help him lift the furnace up.  The guy said he would come over in a bit - he got there a little before 2:00.  However, it was very scary to watch - Jim is always so methodical and walks through every step before we do anything.  This guy was a little quick and was probably surprised at the heft of the furnace.

They had to hook the back lip over the mounting bracket...

Ta da!  It's now hanging on the wall!  We were very grateful for his help - there was no way I was going to be able to do that.  However, he ended up staying for over an hour and a half just talking so our work schedule was pretty impacted today!  But still very grateful.  And the furnace looks very cool.

Once we were able to get back to work, we got the next piece of drywall cut, marked and brought over to where Jim could back it into place...

Fastening it down...

Since we didn't have much time, Jim didn't cut out the window yet.  Instead, we got the next piece ready to go.  Jim had to cut the top off this one and attached it...

Then we brought the piece over and against the wall...

Then Jim was able to slide it down into place.  This is what we will have to do for the rest of the pieces on this wall.

Fastening...

Our plans tonight were to knock off work a little early and head into Lowe's where Jim needed to do some utility door investigation and pick up a few things.  We were then going to go downtown to Saratoga Springs, take in some Christmas sights and grab a bite to eat.  But since the afternoon went the way it did, I convinced Jim that we needed to continue working a while longer.  Jim headed into Lowe's and then came home - good decision!
