2.4.2017

We got some great news this morning - Jim got the results of his wrist x-rays back.  They showed no arthritis and no other structural issues.  So grateful!  The pain that he's been having is obviously just from overuse - sure wish he could get a little rest for them!

I went out for a little bit this afternoon so I got to see what Jim has been working on.

Since he fit all the pieces for the knee wall in the master bedroom closet yesterday, he was able to do some installation.  He put the expanding foam in the cracks and then trimmed it off for a flat surface.

Then he installed the foam board baffle next to the rafters.  Next was putting glue down for the lower wall plate.

Jim got the bottom track and all the studs installed and then started on the detail work.  He put up the top angle and is working on the corners in this picture.

All finished!

Jim also put the wood frame at the end of the kitchen wall...

Doing more corner work in the kitchen...

The next task at hand was deciding where we wanted the ceiling fan to go in the living room - here Jim is doing some measuring to find the center of the room.

One more of those tasks that is much easier with wood, but Jim made it work by making and installing more blocking pieces between the rafters.

Using the laser to project the center lines up on the rafters - it came out just where Jim had marked it!

Using the square to make sure his blocking is in the right spot.

Next is putting up the special ceiling fan hanger/box...

All in place!

After I left, Jim did more wiring in the living room.  He had decided to put a double switch box when you walk in the room, so he had to take apart the box he had originally put in and totally redo it.  He also put in our first of many tamper-proof receptacles (required by code - groan).
