1.20.2021

Jim lightly sanded the edges of the front panel for the refuse cabinet...

Trying it in the frame for fit...

Then he got it all glued and it's drying...

The rest of the day was spent on doing some belt replacement and maintenance on the table saw - starting to take it apart...

Cleaning out the bottom area with the vacuum...

Side table is off and digging into the top...

The steel top is off - that piece alone probably weighs 125 pounds.  Lots of sawdust in here too!  This is a good "before" picture - look for the "after" a bit farther down.

Between cleaning out the saw and all the planing he did yesterday of the new wood, his vacuum bag was totally full - this is a messy, dusty job.  Jim still has a contact who comes and picks up the full bags when Jim gets a few, which is so nice.

This table saw is over 30 years old and has seen lots and lots and lots of use!  Jim bought new belts for it - you can see the difference between the two sets!

A closer look at how bad of shape these belts were in!

New belts attached, everything cleaned and oiled...

The "after" picture - quite a change!  Time to start putting things back together.

There is so much alignment to be done on every part of reassembling this - Jim used his calipers to make sure everything was perfect set.  Here he's leveling the side table...

After all these years, the side table top is showing its age as well.  It has a slight bow to it so Jim is going to get some better quality MDF and make a new one.  He'll lose the pinkish laminate and replace it with some black that Kyle brought him!

Recalibrating...
