6.19.2015

Today was supposed to be rainy and Jim had planned to do some errands.  It had rained overnight but the day turned out to be beautiful.  But he went ahead and did his errands as planned.

He first went to Lowe's - his rep had come back with a quote for our appliances and the sheathing for the house and roof.  We were very happy with the quote so he went off to pay for everything and defer delivery for as long as possible.  That's all very exciting!

Then he picked up an engineering print from Staples of the roof design that he's been working on and took that to the roofing company to get a quote from them.  He also talked to them about the metal brick flashing and picked up a roll of that also.

He then went to the storage unit and picked up the brake that we bought this winter to bend the flashing and we got it set up on the sawhorses.

In the afternoon, we went back to making dirt by doing more grading of the new driveway and then using the dirt to backfill.  Here Jim is grading with the dozer blade...

...and then later, scooping up dirt with the bucket.

Working on filling in the corner!

Flattening and compacting the dirt...

Then we started filling in some at the front of the building.

Pretty much all filled up in the corner - no ladders necessary to reach the deck now!

Jim did some more grading and then used that dirt to work around the septic system.

Doing some hand shoveling close to the tank.

At the end of the day, this area is really taking shape too!
