6.14.2015

Again, Jim had everything cut and ready to go today.  Takes a lot of time making sure everything fits well.  It's much easier to have things cut in advance but it's not always practical.

Starting the mortar...

Jim always makes sure to take time to keep things clean and in good shape before he starts.  Otherwise, we'd have real machine issues!  But I always feel bad - he works so hard getting ready to start that he's put in a good day's work before he starts mortaring!

Starting up the steps...

This was a tricky place to work - Jim was constantly battling the house wrap, trying to work on the side of a steep hill, no good place for supplies, plus the temps were pretty warm so you really have to work quickly.

Continuing up....

The front is basically done!  We can't do the front area around the door sill because we are going to pour concrete there.  We have a few more pieces of block to do around the corner but we are all out of block, so we'll need to get some more.  But looks amazing!
