1.20.2019

Today was all about snow - as I write this, we probably got close to 2' and more in places where it swirled around.  This was the view from inside - you can see that the wheels of the box truck are basically hidden.

But Jim was prepared...he plugged in the extension cord for the heater for the Bobcat before lunch and let it warm up.  After lunch, he headed out...well, hm...not so easy heading out!

These are terrible pictures because I was inside where it was warm while Jim was outside, but the snow came up past his knees getting to and from the pole barn!

Using the snow blower....  However, Jim ran into an issue with the snow blower - the directional chute wouldn't move.  He worked on it for quite awhile but he basically had to use a rubber mallet and hit the chute while holding the lever in order to get it to move direction.  Needless to say, it was a very frustrating and much slower operation than it should have been.  Something else that will need his attention.

This is the view at the end of the driveway - you can barely see the mailbox peeking out!  Jim will have to put the bucket on the Bobcat tomorrow and clean all this out.

The view of the driveway heading back up...

A big chunk of the snow on the roof came off...

It's still snowing now but the big news now is the cold temperatures - we are under a wind chill warning until tomorrow night - wind chills as low as 40 below zero are expected!  The high tomorrow is only supposed to be 2 degrees with the lows tonight and tomorrow around -10.  Scary cold.  Hope everyone was safe today and stays warm!
High 16/Low -8 - about 2' of snow!
