7.14.2016

The forecast for today included rain possibilities for both morning and afternoon - too risky to chance doing brickwork.   So instead, Jim spent the day getting lots of prep work done so that we will be good to go!

He wanted to get all the waterproofing membrane over the new block we just put down.  This required pulling all the gravel away from these areas and cleaning everything up.

Then he was able to put membrane over the bottom area as well as brick flashing on top of that.  These areas are ready for brick now!

Then he spent quite awhile working on the guides for the brick on both sides of the man door as well as the other side of the garage door.  These have been invaluable in helping Jim get the brick in the perfect position, but requires quite a bit of work to make sure everything is perfectly level and plumb.

It didn't rain until mid-afternoon and then Jim switched his attention to parts runs.  He went to the cold-formed steel place to pick up the steel he ordered, came back and unloaded, and then went to Lowe's to pick up more mortar and concrete mix and got that unloaded too.

So lots of tedious work but good to do on an iffy day!
