Another day of brickwork!  Jim putting in hurricane ties in the back...

Ready for mortar!

The first place we worked as to put the concrete blocks in the two areas around the door.  There's only one more area that we didn't get the block finished and it's on the front corner.  Jim and I were saying today that we're so glad we did all that work last fall - sure made the brickwork go faster!

Installing the block...

Another layer on the front corner...

...before moving around back.

Made it up another step!

Jointing the back...

We used up another cube of bricks so Jim brought up more!

Putting up brick ties getting ready for the next batch.

Mortar's ready!

Starting in the front...

Jim put the two bricks next to the electric box for the light.

Then he used the rest of the batch of mortar to go down the length of the side wall.

Doing the jointing...

Final clean up of the day.

End-of-the day - front...

...side...

...and back.  Everything is really taking shape!

The last course of bricks that Jim put on the side wall was the farthest he could reach with the platforms configured the way they were on the sawhorses.  So he made another platform area to stand on for tomorrow's work.  Looks a little scary to me!
