9.21.2025

Since it's the last day of summer, a good time to reflect on the past season.  While it certainly was one of shock with Jim's cancer diagnosis, we are focusing on all the blessings that came from that diagnosis - early enough that it hadn't spread, wonderful doctors, a successful surgery, and Jim is recovering well.  Much to be grateful for this summer!

Jim moved the big rock with the Bobcat today - amazing that the Bobcat can carry this weight!

Brought it up to our rock wall beginning point...

After the cylinder job, Jim wanted to spray off the excavator, so he used his degreaser and then power sprayed it.  I need an after picture because it did a great job and it looks so much cleaner.

Next up was the shed garage door bottom seal replacement.  The design of this door makes switching out the seal very difficult because the bracket that holds the track in place also connects to the wheel and spring that lifts the door.  Jim would have had to unwind the spring to remove it, so he came up with a way to hold the spring in place with a screw at the side of the opening...

After doing that on both sides, he was able to remove the track...

He brought it into the shop to work on it - you can see the damage from the rodents...

Jim had to uncrimp the ends and then carefully slide the new seal on...

Success - this was harder than it looks in the pictures though!

Crimping the ends again...

Putting the track back into place...

Fastening in place...

Working in the corner to get the spring connected back...

All done and looks great!
