The heat in the house came on for the first time today - so grateful that Jim was able to get the furnace working again!
Mom had her physical today, so we were off for that until about lunchtime.
Jim was busy in the shop - he modified the design of his half-rafter a bit so he was making the changes...
Then he headed outside - he started measuring for the shoulder pockets for the half-rafters...
Testing the rafter - perfect!
Moving over, he started cutting the other shoulder pocket...
All done and testing fit!
He repositioned again and started working on the pockets on the other side of the structure...

He got the last shoulder pocket cut. Then he cut one of the bigger beams in half and brought the timber inside to cut the other two half rafters. That will be tomorrow's job.
We're apparently cultivating interesting golden yellow mushrooms in the yard now...
