1.20.2020

Definitely a cold start to the day - I had an early morning doctor appointment and it was 5 degrees when I left.  However, that will feel balmy - it's going below zero tonight!  However, it's January in Upstate New York - it's supposed to be cold!  It was beautiful out with the snow from the weekend - bright blue sky, white snow and green trees - perfect!

Jim worked this morning and got all of the drawer glides attached - these have to be precise so they take lots of time.

This afternoon, he got ready to epoxy the next layer of edge pieces to the countertop...

Last piece!

If you remember, when Jim ordered the epoxy from Corian, one of the tubes had come open during transport.  These tubes are very expensive so you can't waste any!  The company sent Jim a replacement tube but he had kept the old one.  Today, he got the old tube out and did some investigating - he was able to squeeze out the epoxy until both parts starting coming out correctly, leaving him with about a half tube of hopefully useable epoxy.  Just to test it, he used it on a piece of blocking on the underside of the counter...

Pressing it down...

Switching gears while the epoxy sets up, Jim started making window molding...

He got about 90 feet of molding made!

Jim's order of drawer pulls came in this afternoon.  He has been waiting on them because he wanted to put the pulls on in the shop before he assembled the drawers.  They are very pretty but a little bigger than the ones we had before - we are now deciding between using them and putting finger pulls on the drawers (which means Jim would have to redo the fronts!).  We're sleeping on that decision!
