1.12.2020

What a difference a day makes - a cold front made its way into the area, dropping temperatures all day.  We had such strong winds for most of the day.  We had quick power outages and both times the generator came on right away.  The utility power came back on but it was another good test of the system.

Jim assembled the spice cabinet today except for the bottom shelf which needs one more coat of polyurethane...

Then...Jim brought up the piece of Corian just to try it out in the kitchen!  It's so gorgeous!  I told him he has to leave it up - which he actually is for the time being - yay!

Check out how perfectly square the walls are (no surprise!) - the Corian is completely flush against the corner and both sides...

Jim brought up another piece of Corian just so we could talk over a few details.  Jim wanted to make sure my pasta roller would be able to clamp to the countertop - very important!

Back in the shop, Jim sized all the drawer pieces and started doing the millwork...

The bigger drawer...

Jim is putting the bottoms of the drawers through the belt sander to get them to the proper thickness...

All done...

Putting a coat of polyurethane on the drawer bottoms and the bottom spice rack shelf...

High 50/Low 17 - windy!!
