1.13.2020

This is a holiday I really need to celebrate - but maybe next year!

This morning, Jim brought up the spice rack cabinet for a test fit...

Perfect!

We decided to leave the inside shelves with just the coats of polyurethane because they have such a pretty tiger stripe design...

Sadly, Jim had to bring it back into the shop to finish it up!  He beveled the edges and then started sanding...

Once he got things taped off, he put a coat of primer on...

Looks great - drying and waiting for the next step!

Jim brought up the next section of Corian for a test/color fit as well...

Then he cut a section that will go on top of the spice rack and wrap around the wall...

We were deciding on which pieces would go where depending on the color/swirl pattern - once we decided, Jim marked the pieces accordingly.

He was able to place the two pieces together more precisely in the shop - this will look wonderful!

Next, Jim turned his attention to making the drawers for these two cabinets.  It takes him about 45 minutes to get all the set up done precisely on his dovetail machine and then make a sample.  Here he's starting the dovetail work on the drawer pieces...

 All done!

 Starting to sand...

Perfect timing - Jim's order of drawer slides just came today by FedEx...
