11.3.2017

Jim got a late start to his day.  We've had some lights in the apartment that needed replaced - on top of our staircase as well as the florescent lights in the kitchen.  The landlord came just as Jim was leaving - Jim ended up helping with the staircase one for awhile until the landlord decided he was going to buy a new light fixture and Jim made a speedy escape!

Once at the property, he got busy making another door jamb - this one will go in the wood shop access to the attic space above the auto bay.  This needs to be sealed off before the cold weather.

Jim also continued his insulation work in the stairwell, totally finishing the backside.

It was a fairly warm day, so Jim took advantage and did a little outside work - he took down the roof jacks off the front of the stairwell.

As if the insulating the stairwell hasn't been enough fun, the next space Jim has to work is in the auto bay ceiling.  He got a start to figuring out the baffles for this area this morning.  Thankfully, he can work off the scaffolding in this area.

But that set another task in motion - clearing out some stored things that were in the auto bay.  We decided to use the truck as our mobile storage unit.  Jim first had to get in the truck and do some rearranging.  Then we started filling it up and emptying out the corner of the auto bay.

In preparation for winter, we got some tarps over the scaffolding and Jim is tying them down.

The end of the day saw Jim having to put on his mechanic's hat.  Although we say every year that it will be the last winter for the 1996 4Runner, Jim's going to go over it and do a bit of work on it to make it last through another winter!

He had to charge the battery before he could bring it inside, but then he got it up on jacks and the back wheels off.  He wants to get the drums turned; we'll have to find a place to get that done.

Jim had a bit more time left so he headed up into the apartment and did a little drywall work on the closet in the second bedroom.
