It's so nice to see Kyle & Julia - they got in late last night from NYC.  After a tour of all the changes at the site since they were last here, we got to work.

First on the agenda was tearing down the scaffolding in the back.

Then we reset it up in the front, attaching it to the existing towers of scaffolding.

While Kyle took the lead on setting up the scaffolding, Jim headed up on top and installed the blocking in the front section of roof.

Getting tall!

We needed to scavenge a few cross braces from the existing tower to finish up (we never have enough cross braces!) so Jim took those out.

Then they worked finishing up the last section...

Both the blocking and the scaffolding tasks done, time to move on to bringing up more sheathing.  Jim certainly appreciated Kyle's muscles in this job.  Jim and I get it done but Jim always has to do the lion's share of the work.

Attaching the temporary blocking to hold the first pieces...

Kyle and Julia took over the cutting parts of the sheathing job, allowing Jim to stay outside and install.  Julia and I chalked the screw locations on each piece as it was cut.

Putting the first piece through...

Getting it into place...  This first section was so much easier for Jim because of the scaffolding - no more hanging over the edge upside down!

Bringing the next piece over...

Passing supplies...

First row done - Kyle & Julia hand the next piece to Jim to get into place...

Fastening the pieces down...  Jim is putting enough screws to hold it into place securely - he'll have to go back and put the rest in eventually.

The valley rafter makes for a lot of angle cuts...Kyle and Julia make quick work of it.

Fastening down the last piece in the second course - really looking good!

Kyle finally insisted that Jim stop and put the harness on...

The scaffolding inside makes it easier for Kyle to get the next piece to Jim.

Julia up on the scaffolding helping Kyle get the next piece up and ready for hand off...

Success - the piece is up on the scaffolding...

...and onto the roof.

Julia putting in the H clips while Kyle and Jim hold the piece up...

Putting more screws in while Kyle and Julia get the last piece cut.  There aren't any more pictures of the completed course because it got too dark too quickly!

Another gorgeous sunset on Angel...

It was a great day - so nice to have Kyle & Julia's help and we got so much accomplished.  It looks amazing to have sheathing on the front roof!

It was home for hot showers, a spaghetti dinner and a Cavs win!
