11.10.2014

I drove to Albany this morning to pick up another roll of dimple board.  When I got to the pick up area, the guy said the roll had been badly damaged - my heart sank since we really need this to finish up the backfilling.  But the counter guy said he would give me a roll from another manufacturer that was more expensive at the same price.  Whew.

When I got back to the site, Jim had been working on cutting these little pieces of steel to use as end blocks for the decking.

Jim was just trying them out to see how they fit - you can see how they fit underneath the decking so that no concrete escapes when we pour.  They also will help keep weather out of the building during this winter.  Jim will later spot weld them into place.

After lunch, it was time for dimple board again.  This new product is stiffer and a bit tougher to cut but we like it better.

This section required Jim to cut a hole in the dimple board for the electric conduit thimble.

Then came gravel,

geo fabric,

and dirt!

The final corner will take some hand shoveling to reach.

We extended our "road" on the side and brought back lots more dirt.

You can see that we just have a little more dirt build up to go in the corner as well as putting up the last piece of dimple board.

High 54/Low 27 - sunny and nice!
