6.15.2022

Jim was back outside this morning, crumbing out the holes and making sure they were all in alignment at the bottom where the concrete would go...

Because the surrounding ground around each of the holes could give a false impression that the holes aren't the right depth, Jim got out his laser and measured each one - they were all perfect.

We got our measuring string out and double checked that the center of each of the holes was where it needed to be and Jim did the measuring stick test as well to be sure of depth...

So everything was ready for inspection.  Jim called the township and the guy said he would stop by on his way home.  That was great news because the forecast calls for the possibility of rain tomorrow which could cause all kinds of issues before an inspection.

The inspector ended up coming mid afternoon - he took some pictures, did some measurements and approved it with no issues!  Then he stayed and talked for probably 30 minutes.  This was Jim's first experience with this new inspector so you're never quite sure what to expect.  But all went perfectly!

That means that it's time to get ready for the next steps.  Jim got the concrete mixer (AKA The Pumpkin) out of the pole barn and attached to the Bobcat.  He got it all greased and ready to go.

He went up to the shed and got the mortar box...

Just in case of weather, Jim covered the holes to hopefully prevent any eroding issues.

Our building supply order is supposed to be delivered tomorrow so we'll be able to start building!
