11.9.2018

The forecast was for wet weather this afternoon, so Jim had a busy morning.

He had listed our pallets for free on craigslist and someone had called wanting some.  Jim told him he would put them down at the end of the driveway and he could take what he wanted.  Of course, that required getting the Bobcat out and moving them all down there.  We've gathered quite a collection with all the various deliveries.

Then Jim took down all of the roof jacks from the roof - looks beautiful - and done!

Then he took down the scaffolding in front of the garage door area and rebuilt one section on the side in anticipation of putting up siding.

That enabled him to get the Bobcat inside and move the snowblower attachment outside for now.

He took the Bobcat to the upper driveway and started digging some dirt...

Then he brought it into the barn and started doing some grading.  There's not much room to maneuver the Bobcat inside so he ended up doing a lot of hand shoveling.  He needs to get dirt up to a certain level, then he'll put a layer of gravel.  Next year - concrete!

Taking shape...

About this time, it started raining and then turned into a rain/snow mix before finally turning into a coating of snow!  How amazing that Jim was able to finish the roof this morning before it looked like this...

An update...with our mood lighting in the back of the carriage house, you can see that we got about 1-1/2 inches of snow.  It's wet and heavy so the pine trees are bending a bit - gorgeous view from the living room!

High 42/Low 38 - first snowfall!
