6.10.2023

This morning, Jim started doing some measurements on the wall - he has to mark the location of where the bench seat will attach to the wall as well as making sure where the blocking is behind the walls...

Marking lines on the wall...

Searching for the studs...

Once all that was figured out, Jim loaded up the second bench on the two-wheeler...

Taking it up the stairs...

Yay - it's in the house now!

Setting it on towels to keep from scratching the floor...

Jim then put it down...

And scooted it into place on the towels...

Towels out and putting it in its precise location...

I'm excited to see it up here!

Jim had to climb inside to fasten it to the floor...

His new smaller angle driver sure came in handy...

After it was fastened to the floor, he started attaching the frame to the wall...

Next he brought up the seat frame...

Fastening the seat frame to the bench...

Jim had planned on cutting grass this afternoon, but we would get a little rain and then sun, so he decided to press on with the next seat cushion.  He put all his markings on the plywood...

We cut the fabric and then I serged the edges.  Next, Jim started stapling it in place...

Doing the corners...

All done!

Jim brought it upstairs and put it into place...

Wow - how great does this look?

Mom and I had to try it out - it's wonderful!

We no longer have to have the dining room chairs in the house, so Jim is taking the last one down to the auto bay...

In the little time before church, Jim was working on his practice mortise...
