1.4.2023

Mom and I had to leave early this morning to head down close to Albany for a doctor's appointment.  I was grateful for good weather, a legal inspection ticket, GPS since I didn't know where I was going, and good results at the doctor!

Another thing to be grateful for - the gas company came to fill up our tank.  We got about 165 gallons so we are topped off and good for a long time!  When Jim ordered the gas online Sunday, they were way behind and said it could be a week or two.  We are happy that they came when the weather and driveway were good.

Jim spent time in the wood shop going through his stack of wood and getting some out to start making drawers for the bathroom cabinet.  He needs to make another trip to the lumberyard so that may happen next week.

This afternoon, it was time to finish assembling the package drop box.  Putting in the bottom...

Fastening it in place...

The door is next...

Putting the fasteners in...

It looks so amazing!!

It's plenty big and strong enough - Jim can tuck up inside!

Jim got the Bobcat's forks on and lifted the old box out.  This one was only meant to be temporary but it served us well for years!

Getting ready to take it up the hill...

Jim put the old box in the auto bay - he'll take it apart and save the steel pieces...

Then it was time to paint the other side of the cabinet pieces...

One drying station...

This is the most turkeys we've ever seen on the property!  They were hard to count but there appeared to be about 60!

High 39.8/Low 34.4 - foggy
