My beautiful pantry room needed a sign - so Jim put it up this morning!

But today was all about the rear axle work - Jim modified the press so that he could get the inside retainer out that was pressed on too far....

Success!  He was able to use the bearing separator to grab the inboard retainer...

Now he's preparing to get the bearing out - using this special adaptor to press the axle out of the bearing...

Set in the press...

Axle is now separated from the bearing!

Here's the naked axle all cleaned up - you can see the old bearing in the picture along with the new one in the package...

Starting to put it back together - pressing the axle into the new bearing...

Putting a C-clip back on the axle...

Final step is pressing the ABS gear and inboard retainer...

This step requires precise positioning...

Using calipers to measure the distance - he thinks it's right on, but he will do a fit test tomorrow.
