Happy St. Patrick's Day! We started our celebration early - I made a pistachio cake Monday that we've been enjoying. As I write this, corned beef and cabbage are in the crock pot with Irish soda bread to come later to enjoy with our Green Day feast!
Jim is constantly cleaning up Corian shavings in the shop these days...
Now that the countertop is totally fabricated, the next huge challenge is going to be getting it upstairs and in place. Jim is exploring options but meanwhile, he made a kind of wood bumper that fits over one edge to help stabilize it and protect the edge when it's being moved...
Then he flipped it over...
And started doing final finishing - first with superfine grit sandpaper...
Then a Scotch-brite pad...
Finishing work is all done and it is SO gorgeous! Jim decided to put these straps on to keep the wood bumper in place during the move.
Jim used the remainder of the day to plaster in the wood shop and in the bathroom...
