12.9.2019

Jim was very busy in the wood shop today - he had spent time on the computer last night doing some design work on the next cabinets, so today he started cutting some maple plywood.

It's a challenge to figure out how to cut the pieces he will need with as little waste as possible.

Glueing some wood for more door frames...

And the beginnings of more solid maple drawer fronts...

These pieces have been cut to size for cabinets and drawer bottoms.  Jim's new sanding belt for the drum sander came in this afternoon so he will be able to sand the drawer bottom pieces to the thickness he wants.

More pieces glueing...

A light sanding of the first coat of polyurethane...

And the final coat on this side...

It was a sloppy and foggy day.  Once it gets cold and snowy here, we typically don't have warm days.  But today and tomorrow the temperatures will be around 40 plus it's raining.  Of course, it gets cold again on Wednesday when all that melted snow will freeze.  Jim took me to the post office today because we weren't sure of the state of the driveway - it's still good but he'll have to reassess tomorrow after the rain ends.
High 41/Low 40 - rainy
