Kyle and Jim headed to the property this morning and started scaffolding work.  The last tower in the front is coming down!

The plan was to set up scaffolding along the back that would allow them to install the big living room window - as well as in the right position so that Jim can work on siding.  The tower that was in the back needed to be moved down a bit - so it had to come down first.

Setting up new scaffolding required a little digging to get things in the right position.

As they were building scaffolding, the field rep from Time Warner arrived to drop off the cable - good timing.  Jim helped him carry the spool up to the box.

Then Jim walked off the amount of cable that we'll need and put it in the trench.

The trench looks really good from the apartment...

That block checked, time to get back to building scaffolding...

Sure is nice for Jim to have Kyle here to help with this - I'm just not strong enough to do too much with this process.

All the scaffolding is built - a huge tower grouping that should allow Jim to do pretty much the whole back!

Next big task that we wanted to accomplish while Kyle was here was to install the double window in the living room.  Started by putting flashing down...

Bringing over the window - we had to get it all unwrapped and ready to install.

Putting the window into place from the inside...

Then Jim went outside.  This is the tricky part - the inside person (Kyle, thankfully!) needs to keep the window from falling while Jim tips the window out on all the different sides to get the flanges unfolded.

All done and Jim is putting enough fasteners in to hold it in place for now.

Time for Kyle to head back to NYC - Julia had an event tonight at the NY Public Library that Kyle needed to get back for.  We sure appreciated him taking the time to come up and for all his help!

Once Kyle left, Jim got back out on the scaffolding and put all the rest of the fasteners in.  Then we took off all the window film and stickers.

Window looks great from the outside!

While there was still some daylight left, Jim headed back out to do some more work on the west wall.  Marking the next course...

End-of-the-day...the front looks so clean with no scaffolding blocking the view!  Plus Jim got more shingles on the west wall as well as both side window trim pieces.
