Jim headed out to the roofing company this morning and picked up some copper!  Copper flashing is recommended by the EcoStar roof manufacturer - besides the obvious aesthetics, since the roofing material will last so long, you must use flashing that will also last.  We had some discussions about using copper because of the cost, but after we were so happy with the shingles once we started, decided to go ahead.  Jim got one quote from a different source and was then able to negotiate a better price with the roofing company.

Bringing in the rolls of copper!  Jim will be able to cut the copper using his break to make the various flashings.

This is the heavy gauge steel that Jim picked up yesterday to begin stair work.

Then it was back to work on the fascia backing.

Aligning everything before fastening it down...

Time to take the roof jacks off!

Last row coming down...

Yay!  This section of roofing is totally finished!

Then Jim worked more on the fascia board and got all the bottom pieces up and everything aligned.  He took the top section of scaffolding down - we'll move the rest tomorrow.  The front will be the next section to shingle because that underlayment has been on the longest and the front sees more sun.  In his remaining time, Jim started cutting pieces for the rafter tails - he'll start on the fascia backing first.

In the paper this morning, it was announced that Saratoga County was selected as the Healthiest County in New York State!  This is an independent analysis and is based on two types of measures: how long people live and how healthy people feel while alive.  Sounds good to us!
