10.7.2014

It rained overnight but it turned out to be a really nice day.  However, Jim spent a lot of the day doing more project management work.  He had to go to the steelyard for final discussions, stopped at the plumbing supply store to order the parts he will need to run the line in the trench, stopped at the concrete yard to talk to them about septic tanks, made calls to the company that delivered our brick because they also have septic tanks, and then the brick company because they apparently overcharged us for delivering the bricks - and that was all before lunch!

He had to clean out the truck and get things tied down again because he will have to take the truck to go pick up the plumbing supplies tomorrow.

He worked for quite awhile on the beam pockets.  There are steel plates that sit on top of them that the steel will sit on - so he has to make the beam pockets extremely flat - flatter than you can get just by finishing the concrete after its poured.

This afternoon, I worked on taking all the screws out of all those assembled pieces of shoring.  We quit about 5:00 or so and made a trip into Lowe's.  Jim needed new sanding disks for his palm sander so that he can sand the concrete in the beam pockets, as well as a few other supplies.
