8.1.2025

Happy August - whew, the summer is flying by.  But we're still trying to take advantage of every day, and it was a beautiful one today so Jim decided to work on the new garage door seals.  He took the first side seal off...

Because the auto bay walls are all insulated concrete forms, Jim had to do some specialty trim work to make the garage doors work, including some spacers.  This one has to come off...

Doing some marking...

Jim has the top and one side done - these seals are so amazing and look great!

Plus, with the old seals, there were small cracks - you can see the sunshine through so of course bugs (and snirt!) can get through as well...

Not with these new ones!

Jim had to make the spacer be on the same plane as the trim, so he brought down his electric planer to do that...

All done...

A coat of primer for protection...

This bay is completely done and sealed - looks wonderful!

This bay is much more challenging because of the different trims - Jim had to ponder how he wanted to proceed...

Attaching the seal on the side...

Top and side done...

Jim is going to try and put the seal over this spacer, because removing it on this side is going to be complicated and create other issues...

All done!  Jim said he may want to do a little tweaking on this side but it looks wonderful.

High 75.7/Low 51.3 - beautiful!
