Jim was able to do more work in the wood shop this morning - using the jointer...

Roof pieces!

Planing some wood...

Here's the roof structure for the drop box...

Trying it out on the box - looks awesome!

Checking out the battery and doing a little pre-winter maintenance on the generator...

While there was a brisk wind and it wasn't as warm as it has been, it was still a nice day to do some outside work.  This giant tree fell a few years ago and we wanted to see if we could start cutting it into pieces...

First we had to do some clearing of fallen branches and cut down a couple little trees so that Jim could get the Bobcat in this space...

Using the forks on the Bobcat to hold the trunk up...

I marked lengths off and then Jim started cutting...

After the first cut, Jim had to get back in the Bobcat and jostle the log a bit to get that section to fall...

Then he was able to work his way up the trunk...

He repositioned the Bobcat and kept cutting...

He moved the Bobcat again to hold up the trunk...

This section was already off the ground...

Great progress!  It already looks cleaner.

Such a weird growth on this tree - we always say it looks like a bear is climbing it...

What an amazing view looking up the driveway - never gets old!

High 64.5/Low 50.5 - nice!
